RU Airborne was lucky enough to be invited to the Veterans Art Showcase at the FDR Library to display our new book Fallen Never Forgotten: Vietnam Memorials in the USA

RUA Co-Founder Ronny Ymbras was on hand talking to people about the book and had this to say about the event.

“The Arts Showcase at the FDR Library was held not only to bring out veterans to show the talents they have but was held to bring out the civilian population to help integrate the vets back into the community and understand the healing process.. The main piece Friday night was IMPACT THEATHER”S VETERAN PROJECT an improv group that interacted with the audience about the VA and veteran reintegration with powerful moments about the problems with the VA and the ignorance of the civilian population about what vets are going through.. The arts included painting, singers, musicians, sculptors, writers and authors. One of the most admired artists was an 86 year old female marine CPT Katherine Freston a needle point and canning artist who served in Korea. Singer songwriter Wolf Critton who served in Iraq was a big hit with his original songs of war. Poets addressing the sadness and the contradictions of war with the military industrial complex moved the audience. This is just two days in, I will post what tomorrow brings soon. All people were into the healing aspect of the event in so many ways. from the Vietnam Wall to meditation and vet to vet events. See ya soon,,,AATW”

The event will run through Sunday November 22nd, so if you are in the area of Hyde Park NY stop by the FDR Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, NY and say hi!
