Gliders finally receive their due recogonition in 1944. Fort Bragg July 1942 the 82nd and 101st Airborne are born. The latter to have a rendezvous with destiny. Algeria 1942 the 509th makes 1st US combat jump, then a major disaster dropping into sicily causing many friendly casualties. Success in Salerno and D-day comes with all of its glory and turns the war towards victory.
